Meter Reading

A meter reading is the page count recorded by a leased printer, used to calculate the cost-per-page charges billed each month.

A meter reading on a leased printer or copier is the cumulative page count recorded by the device internal counter, capturing the total impressions produced since manufacture.

Lease agreements use meter readings, submitted monthly either manually by staff or automatically via remote diagnostics, to calculate the cost-per-page charges billed for that period.

Automatic meter submission via remote diagnostics removes the risk of an estimated or missed read, and it is a standard inclusion in managed-print leases on the Mid North Coast.

In short

  • The running page count the device keeps.
  • Drives the monthly cost-per-page billing.
  • Submitted automatically on managed-print leases.
