What is Meter Reading?
A meter reading is the page count recorded by a leased printer, used across the industry for volume tracking and, on some contracts, per page billing.
A meter reading on a leased printer or copier is the cumulative page count recorded by the device internal counter, capturing the total impressions produced since manufacture.
Across the industry, lease agreements use meter readings, submitted monthly either manually by staff or automatically via remote diagnostics, for volume tracking and, on cost per page contracts, billing.
Automatic meter submission via remote diagnostics removes the risk of an estimated or missed read.
